Meat from salmon is not only tasty but it is also very healthy. The colour of the meat is pink or pale orange. It contains large amounts of vitamins and unsaturated fatty acids Omega 3 and Omega 6, selenium, potassium. Consumption of salmon meat is the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Most salmon sold in our country comes from hatcheries, mostly from Norwegian.
Use of salmon in the kitchen
You can buy salmon in various forms - smoked slices, fresh or frozen steaks, shredded salmon or whole salmon. This fish is suitable for almost every culinary preparation. It has few bones and juicy taste. You can bake it, cook it, fry it or grill it. Smoked salmon is suitable for appetizers, snacks, rolls and salads. I can be served for example with pasta. Raw salmon flesh is used in Japanese sushi. You may prepare from salmon steak tartar or Carpaccio. The taste of the meat is very delicate, so do not overdo it with spices. For preserving salmons typical taste try to not over-bake it.

Slice bread into 4 parts, spread them with vegetable oil and put them on a piece of lettuce. From half of salmon fillets create a neat cornet, which we put on salad. From soured cream create little gnocchi and lay it on salmon and garnish with caviar and dill.

- cucumber (about 10-12 cm)
- 4 tablespoons of cottage cheese or ricotta
- salt and pepper to taste
- 200 grams of thinly sliced smoked salmon
- 3 tablespoons of the cut dill
- 24 cocktail toothpicks

Scratch out with spoon seeds from cucumber. Cut it into 1 cm bug cubes, prepare approximately 25 pieces. Flavour cottage cheese or ricotta with salt and pepper and spread with it thinly sliced salmon. Then cut salmon into 1 cm wide strips.
Wrap the salmon strips around cucumber cubes. Turn until it forms a ball about 2 cm. It is possible to wrap the balls into pieces of cling film and use it to create perfectly round shapes. Ready balls lay on a tray or small baking tray and put everything in the freezer.
Before serving let the balls unthaw, restore their shape and if you like, you can even wrap it in cut dill, stick the toothpicks into balls and serve.

- 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

Goody from salmon with Avocado
- 2 avocados
- 100 g of smoked salmon

Salmon as a main dish
All listed recipes are to prepare two servings of the main dish for an adult.
A simple roasted salmon
- salmon - at least two slices

Put a baking paper on the baking tray and brush it with oil. Spread prepared and dried portions of salmon with oil and season with salt and put in the oven preheated to 200 ° C. It should be after 15 to 20 minutes (depending on thickness of slices of salmon) done. During baking grease salmon can once again with oil. Before the end of cooking add on top of each portion the chopped parsley with chopped garlic, mixed with a little bit of oil. Serve on a plate with a piece of lemon. Conveniently side dishes for thus prepared fish are potatoes, either boiled or roasted in the oven on baking paper. If you bake the potatoes, cut them into thinner slices, grease with olive oil, salt, pepper and season with caraway seeds and place in preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes before the salmon.
Salmon in wine
- approximately 600 g salmon
- 1 dl of white wine
- 1 tablespoon of plain flour
- 150 g mushrooms (if you have boletus, then even those are suitable)
- 100 g butter
- teaspoon of cavia
Serve with boiled potatoes or steamed vegetables.
Salmon in wine - preparation
Salt salmon and sprinkle it with chopped parsley, pour the wine and put on about two hours in the cold. Then remove the fish from the marinade, which however retain for subsequent spill. Sprinkle salmon with flour and place in hot butter. Bake in the oven on both sides, top the salmon on both sides with quarters of mushrooms.
Baked salmon spill with marinade, if it deems appropriate, we can bake it a little bit longer. Serve on a plate with lemon slices, caviar and parsley.
Asian-style salmon with ginger
- 4 salmon fillets
- few tablespoons of soy sauce to taste

As a side dish for any Asian food is recommended rice, the best is Basmati rice.

Preheat the oven to 200 ° C, spread salmon fillets side by side in a shallow baking pan with baking paper. Mix the soy sauce with sliced ginger and a few drops of Tabasco for spicier taste. Salmon Steak - preparation
Put the salted steaks on the foil, which we previously smeared with butter. Season butter with salt and pepper and mix it with chopped parsley, chives, garlic and onion. Smear thus prepared mixture salmon steaks wrap lightly in aluminium foil and place in hot oven for 25-30 minutes, depending on thickness of salmon.
Salmon with honey in cream sauce
This recipe is a slightly unconventional, but if you like a sweet meat, then you have to definitely try it.

Drizzle finely washed salmon with lemon juice, salt it and season it with a little bit of seasoning on the fish. Slice the onion finely and fry. When it is golden brown, then pour a cream and add a teaspoon of honey, two teaspoons of mustard and a teaspoon of soy sauce. Stir until the sauce thickens. Drizzle with a little lemon and add curry spices. Fry salmon thoroughly in a pan . Strain the finished sauce. Serve salmon with sauce and potatoes, either boiled or roasted, or with steamed vegetables.
Salmon with spinach in puff pastry
- 1 pastry
- salmon (fillets, smoked)
- 1 onion
- 250g of spinach (frozen)
- 150 g of cheese
- 2 cloves of garlic
- ground pepper
- 1 egg

Roll out puff pastry into a thin sheet and then form into a rectangular shape. Chop the onion, fry in oil and add the chopped spinach. All together simmer for about 15 minutes. Add to this mixture crushed garlic, salt and pepper. Finally, stir in the grated cheese and pour over the cream. Put salmon fillets on the top of puff pastry and cooled spinach mixture so that we can roll it well and tightly and it won't open during the baking in the oven. Smear roll with beaten egg and bake until golden brown about 30 minutes in a preheated oven at 160 ° C.
