Propolis has a wide range of possible utilization in healing. It is a mixture of resin and wax that bees use as a sealant. It has antimicrobial and anti-mycotic effects. It is also a powerful antioxidant and rids the body of undesirable bacteria. Its effects are also anti-inflammatory, propolis supports wound healing and has anaesthetic effects as well. Furthermore, it enhances production of antibodies in the body. Its effects are reliable even upon administration of a very small or diluted dose.

Propolis Tincture

Cut 30 g of propolis into small pieces and put into 5 dcl of pure alcohol into a dark-glass bottle. Shake well and let rest for 9 days. Shake the mixture every day. Strain it on the tenth day and your propolis tincture is finished. The liquid must never get in direct contact with any metal, it is therefore necessary to use a plastic strainer, not a metal one.

A propolis tincture prepared like this is used in injuries for wound disinfection and also for burns - after applying propolis tincture, no blisters occur and the pain ceases immediately. You can also use it for facial acne, to support psoriasis treatment, for bunions, to treat inflammations of inner and outer ear and for rheumatic disorders - ache in joints, muscles and for cramps.

You can also apply the tincture internally where it acts preventively against the flu, inflammations of the upper respiratory tract and bronchi, stomach ulcers. It also acts beneficially against various internal infections.

Propolis Emulsion

If you add the propolis tincture into a warm beverage (tea, water, milk), you get a propolis emulsion. We use that to treat sensitive mucous membranes, to disinfect the oral cavity, to treat gums during paradontitis and for aphthas on the oral mucosa. We also recommend using it during anginas and nasopharynx inflammations, in chronic tonsillitis and similar problems.

To make the spread, you will need the following ingredients: 200 g Eidam cheese, 100 g mozzarella, several cloves of garlic, 15 ml mayonnaise, 50 ml cream, pepper, salt, sweet paprika. Grate Eidam and mozzarella finely and mix them with the mayonnaise and cream. Add the pressed garlic. Season the mixture with salt, pepper and ground paprika. You can vary the cheeses to your taste and imagination. You can use bryndza, Emmenthal cheese, cottage cheese, etc. The spread is great for canapés and savoury snacks. Decorate the prepared snacks e.g. with a piece of vegetable.

Quick Garlic Soup

Garlic soup will give you energy and warm you up during winter months. Prepare 1 litre of water, 300 g of potatoes, 1-2 bouillon cubes, 8-10 cloves of garlic, eggs, salt and pepper. Chop the potatoes into little cubes and boil them in the water with the bouillon. Add 4 pressed cloves of garlic, one or two mixed eggs, salt and pepper and keep the soup boiling. We can also roast some bread to eat with the soup. Chop the bread into pieces and roast or fry it. Finally, press the rest of the garlic and season the soup with it.


Onion is very important in illness prevention; it is very healthy and universal healing use. Onion with Honey and Fennel

Onion Tea

Chop 2 onions into fine pieces and let them boil for 5 minutes in 200 ml water. Let it rest for 10 minutes, strain and sweeten it with honey. Drink several times a day

Scald a pack of raisins with hot water and put them into a small bowl. Pour juice out of two lemons over the raisins. Let the raisins soak up the lemon juice and puff up. Vitamin C will bind to the grape sugar which enhances its effects in our body. Daily digestion of these raisins is a great prevention against infectious diseases.
